Makeup Revolution IRL Filter isn’t quite the superman concealer I was expecting but it’s nice nonetheless.
#MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEALER C5 SWATCHES FULL#
I’d want something a lot more pigmented for a more full makeup look! This would be something I’d use on the weekends or when I’m running errands to brighten and smooth my eye area. If you like more natural, sheerer makeup it’s perfect! I wouldn’t even say it provides medium coverage! It’s more of an almost but not quite medium coverage that it offers. If you have issues with blemishes, dark circles, etc…this might not be the concealer you want to indulge in. It’s a very natural, lightweight, and sheer concealer. If you’re throwing full coverage into your marketing you need to deliver. My ride-or-die is Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and I pretty much feel it’s the gold standard in regards to being pigmented and full coverage. I’m a bit disappointed at the lack of pigment. Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer Swatches (Shade C7) Don’t be frightened of the matte finish by the way! As someone with drier eyes, it was perfectly fine for me and didn’t look nor feel dry. That claim if sixteen hours might be a little much. I didn’t have any cakiness or creasing during that wear but it just faded away by the time I got home after work. I got about 8 hours of wear from it before it faded. I wouldn’t say it’s producing a botox effect but I will say my under eyes look bright and smooth. It did not crease through the wear or settle into my finer lines. I was properly impressed with the application and felt like it was very easy to apply. I got the shade C7 which I swatched in this post! It’s a lighter beige shade that looks darker in the barrel. It’s a formula that glides very easily under eyes. I prepped well prior to use because I have drier eyes but I feel like even if I didn’t it would likely still apply very well. It’s slightly thin but does have enough creaminess that you might not notice it being thin. This is a lightweight, creamy concealer that blends like butter. Sixteen hours of wear? Mmmmmmmm not really. Soft matte finish? Check! Crease-proof? Check! Blends easily? Absolutely check! Smoothing? Sure is! Full coverage? Absolutely not. Some of their marketing is spot on but a lot of is not. As per Makeup Revolution is has 16 hours of wear, blends effortlessly, has a soft matte, full coverage finish and is crease, sweat, and waterproof with a “first-to-market oil-free VTOX formula” with okra extract and hyaluronic acid! V-Tox uses algae to mimic the smoothing, line-diminishing effects of Botox. This comes in a standard barrel and has a flocked sponge applicator that’s slightly angled which gives it that fingertip look and feel during application. It’s refreshing prices have gone up dramatically with some of Makeup Revolutions’ new Spring 2023 releases. Why is that so important? Inflation my friends, inflation! The original Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer is $7 for 0.11 oz (Conceal & Hydrate is bigger at 0.45 oz for $12) which makes this new IRL Filter Finish Concealer the same price if not the same size. But one of the most important things is the fact that Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer is 0.21 oz for $7. This concealer is $7 bucks! $7! That’s a steal. The one thing you gotta love about Makeup Revolution is the prices.

Nonetheless, I immediately purchased Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer and here’s my review and thoughts on it. I’m a huge fan of Conceal & Hydrate Foundation but IRL Filter doesn’t have me convinced. Make Revolution launched IRL Filter Longwear Foundation a few months ago and I purchased it upon launch bit the verdict is out if I actually like it. A lot of Makeup Revolution concealers are a miss for me sadly but it never sways me from trying them anyway! That being said, I have learned the hard way that not everything is as good as Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer. I’m a bit fan of Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer and it’s one of the reasons I race to try anything new concealer launches from Makeup Revolution. I am always really excited when Makeup Revolution launches a concealer. Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer ($7) is a new, incredibly inexpensive concealer that launched for Spring 2023 in sixteen shades that promises to filter blemishes, dark circles, and fine lines while providing full, breathable coverage and sixteen hours of wear.
